Tampa Botox®:
Botox® injections are used to treat dynamic wrinkles caused by
contractions of the underlying facial muscles during facial expression,
such as smiling or frowning. Dr. Mack uses Botox® for cosmetic treatment
of frown lines and crows feet; as well as conditions known as essential
blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. Botox® treatment works by chemically
relaxing the facial muscles that are related to facial expression. This
results in a more youthful appearance as the Botox® smooths the dynamic
wrinkles.
Treatments are performed in the office by Dr. Mack as a very small
amount of Botox® is injected with a microneedle into several areas of
the face. No anesthesia is required and patients are able to drive
themselves home following the procedure. The most common side effect is
temporary bruising at the site of the injection. Botox® treatments
typically last for 3 to 4 months.
