Tampa BOTOX® Cosmetic:
BOTOX® Cosmetic injections are used to treat dynamic wrinkles caused by contractions of the underlying facial muscles during facial expression, such as smiling or frowning. Dr. Mack uses BOTOX® Cosmetic for cosmetic treatment of frown lines and crows feet; as well as conditions known as essential blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments work by chemically relaxing the facial muscles that are related to facial expressions. This results in a more youthful appearance as the BOTOX® Cosmetic smoothes the dynamic wrinkles.
Treatments are performed in the office by Dr. Mack as a very small amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected with a microneedle into several areas of the face. No anesthesia is required and patients are able to drive themselves home following the procedure. The most common side effect is temporary bruising at the site of the injection. BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments typically last for 3 to 4 months.
