TAMPA BROW LIFT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
What is an Endoscopic Brow Lift?
An endoscopic brow lift, or forehead lift, is a surgical procedure to reduce an angry or tired look by smoothing forehead wrinkles and raising the brows to a higher position. Through the natural process of aging and environmental exposures, our facial skin loses elasticity; resulting in wrinkles and frown lines in the brow and forehead area. An endoscopic brow lift can be performed alone or with other cosmetic surgeries such as facelift or eyelid surgery. The surgery takes 45-minutes to an hour and is performed as an outpatient procedure with results showing a rejuvenated, refreshed appearance with a youthful arch.
What Are the Benefits of an Endoscopic Brow lift? During an endoscopic brow lift smaller incisions are used which results
in minimal numbness with a quicker recovery. In the past, Brow lifts were a much more invasive procedure than they are today, thanks to the development of the endoscope. An endoscopic brow lift is performed as Dr. Mack uses a tiny fiberoptic lens inserted through small incisions in the hairline. The lens is attached to a camera, which is connected to a monitor screen, allowing for visualization of the surgery. Endoscopic brow lifts are often performed in conjunction with upper eyelid surgery to achieve optimal results.
What About the Recovery?
As with any surgical procedure, there is a minimal amount of discomfort following an endoscopic brow lift. There will be swelling and bruising that may last from seven to ten days. If you experience discomfort, take your prescribed pain medications. Keeping your head elevated and the application of cold compresses will help to reduce swelling. The patient will also have prescriptions for antibiotics. The stitches will be removed in 7-10 days.
What does a typical brow lift consultation entail?
During the brow lift consultation, Dr. Mack will focus on surgical options that can realistically attain your goals. Risks and complications, anesthesia choices and the expected post-operative care will be discussed. During the consultation, the patient has time to ask questions regarding any concerns and Dr. Mack will discuss your goals for the surgery.
When will I be able to see the brow lift results?
The results are immediate but you will be swollen initially. It is important to be patient during the healing period and the full results should be visible in a few months. Any numbness along the brow lift incisions will subside with time.
