What is BOTOX®Cosmetic? BOTOX®Cosmetic is a non-surgical, no downtime, FDA-approved procedure that smoothes the deep, persistent lines between your brows that develop over time from muscle movement. With a five-minute treatment the muscles that cause those lines to form are relaxed.

Who is a good candidate for BOTOX®Cosmetic? Any woman or man who is concerned about the appearance of facial wrinkles and frown lines can consider BOTOX®Cosmetic. Dr. Mack can perform BOTOX®Cosmetic treatments on patients over the age of 18.

How does BOTOX®Cosmetic work to improve wrinkles? When injected into a muscle, BOTOX®Cosmetic relaxes the contraction of the muscles. For example, the muscles responsible for frowning can be relaxed, resulting in a smooth, refreshed appearance. The effects of BOTOX®Cosmetic start 3-7 days after the treatment with results lasting for three to four months.

Where is BOTOX®Cosmetic used and is it painful? BOTOX®Cosmetic reduces frown lines between the eyes, crow’s feet and horizontal forehead creases. Dr. Mack also uses BOTOX®Cosmetic around the mouth as an adjunct to facial dermal fillers. The treatment is performed with a very small needle after ice is administered to the area. Following the procedure, there is no discomfort and no downtime.

How long does BOTOX®Cosmetic last? BOTOX®Cosmetic treatments by Dr. Mack typically last for 3 to 4 months, but can last longer in some patients.
