Who is a good candidate for BOTOX® Cosmetic? Any woman or man who is concerned about the appearance of facial wrinkles and frown lines can consider Botox® Cosmetic. Dr. Mack can perform Botox® Cosmetic treatments on patients over the age of 18.

How does Botox® Cosmetic work to improve wrinkles? When injected into a muscle, Botox® Cosmetic relaxes the contraction of the muscles. For example, the muscles responsible for frowning can be relaxed, resulting in a smooth, refreshed appearance. The effects of Botox® Cosmetic start 3-7 days after the treatment with results lasting for three to four months.

Where is Botox® Cosmetic used and is it painful? Botox® Cosmetic reduces frown lines between the eyes, crow’s feet and horizontal forehead creases. Dr. Mack also uses Botox® Cosmetic around the mouth as an adjunct to facial dermal fillers. The treatment is performed with a very small needle after ice is administered to the area. Following the procedure, there is no discomfort and no downtime.

How long does Botox® Cosmetic last? Botox® Cosmetic treatments by Dr. Mack typically last for 3 to 4 months, but can last longer in some patients.
